This position is an entry to intermediate-level position for someone who has an interest in and a love for craft beer. The Cellar Person will contribute to the daily operation of processing beer from fermenter to packaged product.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Fermenter/Brite tank CIP and sanitation.
- Daily plate heat exchanger cleaning and sanitation.
- Lab analysis including ATP testing, yeast cell counts, yeast viability, chemical titrations and dissolved oxygen readings.
- Yeast management for multiple strains.
- Communicate status of process/projects to appropriate personnel.
- Perform transfers from fermenters to Brite tanks.
- Ensure proper carbonation levels for packaging.
- Kegging of beer for distribution.
- Participate in relevant process improvements.
- General cleaning of cellar (tank exteriors, floors, etc.).
- Proactive involvement in other related duties in the cellar as assigned.
- Open to other assigned duties.
Work Experience
Two years of work experience in brewing industry preferred.
Education
Bachelor’s or associate degree in science related field or a recognized brewing technical certification is plus but not required.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to operate in a team environment
- Ability to lift 55 lbs. and move up to 165 lbs.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Willingness to work flexible and extended hours
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift certification
- Experience with Ekos brewery software
- Experienced with Excel and Word
- Experience with Pentair dissolved oxygen meter
